sonic atelier is a partnership formed by Ines Kargel and

Fabian Neuhaus, committed to advancing acoustics in the

context of urban environments.
We explore what good acoustics in urban spatial contexts

are about, and which means and methods it takes to achieve

acoustical quality.
It is our primary objective to contribute to the design of

well-functioning, livable and viable environments.

We have made it our business to understand the acoustics

of spaces and environments as complex results of many

factors, and as an essential part of living environments.
We have developed theories and methods for assessing,

designing and planning urban spatial acoustics, based on a

wide approach, on the one hand considering multi-faceted

physical aspects of spatial situations, and on the other hand

taking account of the dispositions of humans as well as their

interrelation with the physical environment.
